Warm weather brings return of gunfire; three incidents under investigation

Boston Police tonight are investigating at least two reports of gunfire in Dorchester and a Roslindale shooting the left a resident's refrigerator with a bullet lodged in it.

Shortly after 5 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire at Carruth and Beaumont streets, where two men may have exchanged shots without hitting each other before fleeing. Not long after, police were called to a possible shooting scene on Park Street near Norwell Street. Police briefly shut Norwell to search for evidence.

AlertNewEngland reports that around 8 p.m.:

Shots fired at 32 Arborfield Rd. One round went through a house and lodged into the fridge. PD recovering ballistics.

One Arborfield Road resident tweets:

We barely noticed it last night; assumed kids lighting firecrackers. Super scary & unsettling.

Let's just say I can say with 100% proof and Yummies exchanging gunfire at the corner of Carruth and Beaumont do not live on either Carruth or Beaumont. Take it somewhere else scum.

The sound of breaking glass

Boston Police have posted about the Arborfield incident:

At about 7:40pm, on Thursday, February 17, 2011, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of 31 Arborfield Road. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she was sitting at home when she heard what sounded like the sound of breaking glass. When she looked around her home, the victim says she observed what looked to be bullet holes in and around her residence. Specifically, the victim observed a broken window with what looked to be several bullet holes, as well as, a bullet hole in a refrigerator. A search of the area enabled officers to recover ballistic evidence inside and outside the home.
