Two shot, one dead in closing-time incident on Tremont Street

Boston Police report two men were shot outside 285 Tremont St. around 2 a.m. Both got themselves to Boston Medical Center, where one died.

Two men were arrested following the shootings - additional gunfire inside a garage at 275 Tremont St. - but have not been charged with the murder. Andrew Flonory, 26, of Brockton and Joshua Hollis, 22, of Cambridge, were both charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. They were scheduled for arraignment today in Boston Municipal Court.

Flonory is the brother of Eyanna Louise Flonory, who was gunned down with her toddler son and two others in a Mattapan bloodbath last year. Flonory himself survived a murder attempt at the Ashmont T stop last July.

Police did not identify the murder victim, but friends have identified him as Roc Dukati, a local hip-hop MC who had said he was planning an appearance at Underbar, a Tremont Street club, last night.

Innocent, etc.

Trapped in a garage

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports Boston Municipal Court Judge Raymond Dougan, Jr., set Flonory's bail at $25,000 and ordered him held for because he was on probation for assault-related convictions. Dougan set bail for Hollis at $10,000.

The DA's office provided this account of their arrest:

Boston Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 275 Tremont St. at about 2:00 this morning. The officers learned that additional shots had been fired at a garage located at a nearby parking garage, and they rapidly closed off the garage so no suspects could flee the area.

Flonory was the back seat passenger in a Honda with tinted windows and no front seat passenger, Terrey said. As the officers approached the vehicle, they saw Flonory leaning forward as if placing something under the seat in front of him. When the officers asked him to move and shone a flashlight inside, they saw a handgun on the floor near his legs.

A short time later, other officers at the scene observed Hollis in a Dodge Charger appearing nervous, fidgeting, and avoiding eye contact, Terrey told the court. The officers saw Hollis moving something toward his left side. In light of the report indicating multiple gunshots, and the recovery of Flonory's gun, the officers asked him to exit the car and performed a pat frisk, which turned up a firearm.
