No, no, this guy did it all wrong.

If he wants to smoke cigars, he should just head over to the North End where, courtesy of State Representative Michlewitz, cigar smokers will be able to continue to enjoy carte blanche to smoke up the joint, legally, in the face of city law.

You just need to pick your spots and mind your business.

Memo to well-meaning white folks: black people generally do not like it when white strangers make "requests" for them to stop doing something.

Memo to cigar smokers: smoking on MBTA property is illegal. Period. Just like spitting on someone.

Also, the race of the victim is not included anywhere.

Tell us more generalizations about black people, and I think you'll see why going down that road is offensive and inaccurate.

Why the delay?

When they haven't been able to find him on their own.

So I'm the only one that think is ridiculous for the police to "hunt" the guy and charge him for assault for being basically extremely rude, but just extremely rude???

Yep, probably the only one.
A man who will spit in a woman's face in public should be hunted and brought to justice.
Sounds like he might do a lot more to someone in private or when he's even more angry.

I'm a grown man and I wan this guy off the streets.

This is 2011, gender doesn't have to come into it.

Gender came into it the second the guy spit in a woman's face.
Honestly this incident wouldn't bother me have as much if he had done it to a full sized man.
I'd be as disturbed about over the female victim as I would be over an elderly or handicapped or child victim.
Any douche that could be that abusive in public could be much worse in a dark alley.
Get him off the streets.

They are graced with other attributes but the ability to defend themselves against grown male predators isn't one of them.

That's where the white knights, or just compassionate people really, come into it.

For fools like you and scumbags like the spitter the law comes into play.

" Women...They are graced with other attributes but the ability to defend themselves against grown male predators isn't one of them."

That's a sexist gross generalization.

No - it's a perfectly reasonable generalization. Generalizations don't have to hold absolutely - that's why there's called generalizations. A smaller population does not gain height and weight because the law sees them as equal.

1. It's sexist.

2. It's a gross generalization, which often doesn't apply on an individual basis.

You're the only one.

Battery is any unwanted touching. It does not have to inflict pain to be criminal. This guy should be prosecuted.

Are you a troll or just a jackass? This is called assault and battery, not rude.

A guy was charged with assault for ejaculating on a woman ... spitting isn't really any different from a biological assault and potential transmission of disease standpoint.

Makes sense, but I wish I'd decided that earlier.

Mixed-ethnic neighborhood I lived in, when I was out walking a lot in the summer, every few days, some black male would spit at my feet and mutter as we passed on the sidewalk. Not the same guy, but it kept happening. I experimentally tried not wearing those khaki-ish pants with the the legs the rolled up above the ankles that were in the stores that summer, thinking that maybe I was pinging as gay. That seemed to be it. So probably they weren't acting like racist assholes, but merely gay-basher assholes.

Now I know I could confront them, "That's assault, I'm calling the police, asshole."

By at feet your do you mean the ground?
Not sure that would be considered assault.

As for the pants, maybe the guy was just an asshole with a good eye for fashion.
Those pants look horrible.

the word you're looking for is EXPECTORATE, not ejaculate...

however, you get one point in your confusion as they're both dangerous,
