Wyoming man learns we don't cotton to frontier justice here

Boston Police report a tussle over who had dibs on a cab on State Street early Sunday ended with a Wyoming man delivering a serious whupping to his local rival.

That was good for a trip to a nearby holding cell, where Nicholas Counts, 25, of Casper, was charged with assault and battery and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, police say, adding they seized his sneakers after booking officers noticed blood on them.

According to police, Counts told them he'd hailed a cab around 2:40 a.m. but that the other guy then slipped into the cab before him:

According to the suspect, the victim finally got out of the cab and started yelling obscenities at him and charged at him. The victim admitted to slapping the victim around after he charged at him.

Police said, however, a witness told them that after the fight was over, Counts kicked his cab rival in the face.

Innocent, etc.

Getting your man down and putting the boot to him is an old Boston tradition - that's urban justice.

Have you ever tried to get a cab in the Financial District at any time other than the middle of the day? It really is the Wild West out there!
