Stabbing on troubled stretch of Blue Hill Avenue

AlertNewEngland reports somebody was stabbed in the arm this evening at 100 Blue Hill Ave., across the street from where a man was shot in the head yesterday.

I know what's happening there.
A lot of dead end kids (and men) who don't value life b/c most of them have no viable future.
Fighting over the little bit they have, whether turf, rep, or drug trade.
(BTW, this is brutal assessment of the factors that led to these circumstances, not the people I'm talking about, for the most part. )

I work around the neighborhood too, but don't know that particular block well -- only drive through sometimes. I'll report back if I hear anything interesting.
(Who's this first anon and why is it popping up on all the Roxbury threads and asking for my input? And why is it not asking any of the other Roxbury people on here, some of whom have lived here a lot longer than I have?)

I've lived in this neighborhood for 8 years...and love my neighbors. This particular stretch by design is asking for trouble. The street where the shooting occurred is a very small dead end street with a couple apartment buildings on one side and a vacant lot on the other. The house where the stabbing occurred is on the other side of the vacant lot. There are very few young men that hang out in this area. It is mostly adults from 30-60 years of age, alcoholics, drug users and pronstitutes, that hang on this corner. It has been the same people for as long as I have lived here most of which I know by name. I have questioned for years why they are allowed to hang out all day and night. If it were a group of young men they would have been told to keep it moving by police.
