Bonnie and Clyde they ain't

Boston Police report arresting a male/female duo after a botched necklace grab around 1:20 p.m. yesterday on Dorchester Street near W. 4 St.

Police say the male half approached a woman wearing gold chains and tried to snatch them right off her neck. She resisted and he failed, then jumped into a car driven by his alleged moll, to whom he was heard yelling "Go, go, go!" Police say their search for the two were aided by Good Samaritans, one on foot and one on a bike, who chased the car. The pedaling pursuer got closest, but called off his chase when the guy flashed a knife.

Armed with a detailed description, however, police soon found the pair behind the Andrew T stop - with the dude now behind the wheel.

Edward Pyne, 28, was charged with armed robbery and possession of Class B drugs. Andrea Freitas, 31, of Plymouth, was charged with armed robbery.

Innocent, etc.

The criminal mind

As a Brookline detective I know put it,

"Despite the end of the Space Shuttle program and all of the cutbacks at NASA and despite the increasing financial pressures on the medical industry, it turns out that very few of the people out there committing low-level street crime are actually rocket scientists or brain surgeons."
