Couple found shot to death in Hyde Park; police say they were targeted

UPDATE: Two men charged with the murders.

Boston Police report finding two people shot to death around 12:40 a.m. at 957 Hyde Park Ave.

On arrival officers were met by a community member who reported hearing shots fired from the first floor of the apartment building. Officers entered the apartment and located a male victim in his thirties and a 24 year old female victim suffering from trauma and what appear to be gunshot wounds. Officers immediately summonsed EMS to the scene. Upon arrival, EMS pronounced both victims deceased. In addition, officers located a male child asleep and unharmed in the apartment.

The preliminary investigation does not indicate forced entry and the incident does not appear to be random.

NECN reports police are looking for three or four suspects and that the woman was the daughter of a retired Boston police officer, William Kee. The Herald reports the boy is just 4.

This is the first murder on Hyde Park Avenue since a pizza delivery driver was stabbed to death, allegedly by a group of teenagers, at an abandoned house last September.

Anybody with information can contact the homicide unit at 617-343-4470 or the anonymous tip line by calling 800-494-TIPS or by texting TIP to CRIME (27463).
