Attack-mode flash mob near Berklee?

Bri reports fliers went up around Berklee today asking for information on - and warning students about - an attack on a Berklee student around 10 p.m. Sunday outside the Economy True Value hardware store on Mass. Ave. by:
- 15-20 African-American males and females
- Age range 16-21
- All wearing red t-shirts

These are happening in other cities Washington and Philly which just instituted curfews. London is burning and for once they cant blame the Irish.

I heard about this going on in Philadelphia and Chicargo. large groups of kids start attacking everyone near them. I was hoping it would not start here.

refer to them as "flash mobs"? Those are groups of dorky dancers.
These are violent criminal mobs intent on disrupting society but we can't offend now, can we?

Gang initiation?
That they all were wearing red makes me think that they are or want to be seen as members of the Bloods gang which uses red as its color. This also sounds like the gang initiation that happened a couple of years ago in JP when a group of young adults beat up a man for no apparent reasons such as robbery.
REI preparedness
I work for REI and this week everyone had a letter in the mailbox about "flash robs". It had a basic rundown of what they are, what they do, and how to handle them.
What a crazy world.
How are you advised to handle them?
I suppose they say to just let it happen?
I'll bet you money
US stores don't want the liability of a customer or employee, or even a thief, suing. They are not going to do anything to detain a group of thugs. They won't even detain a single thug.
Minimum wage is not hazard wage.
No store clerk is paid enough that he can be expected to use force as part of his duties.

"Deactivate video surveillance. Seal exits to corral the hostiles. Identify leaders and neutralize them, to disrupt hostile coordination and demoralize them. If hostiles breach store perimeter and are escaping, use less-lethal force to capture two of the weaker ones, and interrogate for intel. If compliance is not forthcoming from the two prisoners, one of them can be terminated to elicit cooperation from remaining prisoner. Use gathered intel to take retaliatory and preemptive action on enemy command structures. "Flash Rob" preparedness
I'll see if I can find it, if so, I'll scan it. Basically it said not to intervene as flash robbers have been known to severely injure employees en mass. Call 911 as soon as you can when safe to do so and without drawing attention, tell the police that there is a large disturbance, etc. Hopefully I can dig up the flier, may have recycled it already.
