Channel 5 reports the man was shot on N. Harvard Street near the Harvard Business School around midnight, is expected to recover.

Why they might have done that
BPD often identifies places by where the responding police district is located. Since D-14 is in Brighton ...

WHDH is reporting a car vs. pedestrian accident on "Harvard Street in Brighton", but showing a picture which is clearly on North Harvard in Allston. They must all be sharing the (wrong) map.

i grew up in the area. we always felt "L.A." was the harvard avenue area. the area near the b-school was just allston and charlesview was the place to purchase yayo.

which is what chicken was reacting to in his comment. I'm not familiar with yayo -- is this an ethnic food?

Yayo is what Pacino traded in in Scarface. I think it's a potato starch based dessert. He got it all over his face at the end, but he really seemed to enjoy it.

i work for a company that does a lot of business with the business school and it gets confusing.harvard refuses to list its address as allston, its boston according to them. it makes giving directions quite confusing.
yayo is definitely not ethnic food.
neighborhoods
I figured someone might get confused since I was referencing the article without a quote.
In general, though, the people around Allston that I talk to and on UHub refer to the neighborhood centered around Western Ave and N. Harvard Ave as "Lower Allston" on that side of the 'pike. Anything in Lower Allston is also technically in Boston so it is legit for Harvard to say that.
I'm not sure if this is different usage from the past.
Of course, if the residents of Lower Allston would prefer to be a separate municipality that is not part of Boston anymore, I would be happy to see that happen. There seems to be more of a suburban mentality over there.
