Another Sovereign Bank branch held up, this time in the South End

Boston Police tweet the Sovereign branch at 505 Tremont St. in the South End was held up shortly after noon.

The suspect is described as a white man, 20-30, about 5'7" with a black hat with a red rim, black pants and a long-sleeved white shirt. A white guy with a goatee is wanted for two other Sovereign holdups this week.

As reported here, there appears to be an endless string of local bank robberies recently, in broad daylight, seemingly by any old hack. I guess I was wrong, but I had been of the impression that banks were difficult to rob.

You definitely had the wrong impression. Banks are incredibly easy to rob. You don't even need a weapon. It's getting away that's the hard part.

Also, the vast majority of banks are robbed in broad daylight. That's when banks are open.
