Police: Dorchester man alive because guy firing rounds at him was a terrible shot
Boston Police report a man engaged in an argument Tuesday night found himself being shot at by the other guy's pal. Despite getting off several rounds, however, the gunman missed his target completely and found himself under arrest not long after.
According to police, the victim and some other guy got in an argument around 7:20 p.m. outside 96 Bernard St. The other guy made a call, a car pulled up, both the guy and his pal showed guns and then the friend started firing away.
According to the victim, the suspect who fired the shots at him then jumped back in the car and fled the scene leaving the man who initially threatened with the gun behind.
Officers, alerted by both 911 calls and activation of the BPD ShotSpotter system, were able to arrive just in time for the victim to point out the departing car, police say.
Alcindy Jean-Baptiste, 27, of Randolph, was charged with assault and battery and assault by means of a dangerous weapon, police say. Evans Bienaime, 34, of Dorchester was charged with being an accessory after the fact.
Innocent, etc.
