No Halloween joke: The voices on the phone really were from inside the house

Boston Police report arresting two Jamaica Plain men on breaking-and-entering charges at a Sedgwick Street home after the resident picked up the phone downstairs to hear them talking on it upstairs.

Jonathan Garcia, 20, and Luis Tejada, 19, were arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Police report that:

[A]ter hearing footsteps in his house, he picked up his phone only to hear the suspects' talking because they had apparently knocked over the upstairs handset by accident.

Police say that in addition to arresting the two, officers also found a messenger bag with the resident's laptop in it.

Innocent, etc.
