Another alleged sexual assault at BU

But not involving the hockey team this time. The Daily Free Press reports a male student is charged with putting his hands up the shirt of a female student sitting in the college library Sunday night.

Is it really that hard these days to ask a girl out on a date? (do people still do that?)

I know that social skills have gone down since we live and communicate only on Facebook and Twitter but still....

In life, you have to put in some effort for a reward.

But why should the awkward, graceless guys at either campus make the effort when the local lad's rag has a perfect game plan: Roofie them all and let the cops sort it out.

Seriously, I have no idea how a generation of guys so dickless has produced so many rapists. Nobody owes you ANYTHING, fellas, so don't go taking what wasn't offered.

I suspect what we're seeing here is an increase of reporting, rather than an increase in attacks. As a society we're doing better with the notion that no, women DO NOT have to put up with this behavior, they SHOULD report when it happens, and there WILL be repercussions for the perpetrator. Schools are now required to report crime statistics, which also make it harder to sweep under the carpet. Comparing anecdotal reporting of such crimes from when us old-farts when to school vs. what we hear reported in the press, and I get the feeling that schools haven't suddenly become cess pools of sexual deviance. Ah-hem, well at least no more than when we were kiddies. ;)

I can't account for you, but rape is deviant sexual behavior to me.

Uh, thanks for the definition of "deviant" notwhitey.

I was actually referring to the fact that RAPE is not sex. Sex is something between two people, both of whom are fully agent and having a good time. When one party is not able to consent - because of a form of non-neurotypicality, immature understanding of intercourse, age disparity, physical force, or drugs/alcohol - it's never sex. It's RAPE.

It's not even "deviant" sex.
