Back Bay armed-robbery suspects nabbed in Charles River and on Storrow Drive

Boston Police report arresting two men from Chelsea and one from East Boston on charges they held a man up at knifepoint at Massachusetts Avenue and Marlborough Street shortly after midnight today.

A fourth suspect remains at large, police say.

According to police, the four approached the man, showed a knife, pulled his hood over his face and then pushed him to the ground. They removed his wallet and cellphone from his pockets, then ran through Charlesgate and down Bay State Road, police say. Officers scouring the area noticed three of the men running across the footbridge from Silber Way to the Esplanade:

Officers engaged in a foot pursuit with the suspects. Officers observed two of the suspects run to the edge of the river in an attempt to hide in the river. Officers with the assistance of Boston University Police Officers removed both suspect from the water and placed them in custody.

A third suspect, meanwhile, tried to escape by running down Storrow Drive. After managing to not get himself hit by a car, police say, he wound up trying to hide under a staircase opposite St. Mary's Street, where he was arrested.

Marion "Tito" Lopez–Cabrera, 23, and Walter Guttierez, 20, both of Chelsea and Sebastian Rosa, 21, of East Boston, were charged with armed robbery.
