Two charged with repeatedly stabbing cab driver in the chest

A South Boston man and a man with no fixed address will be arraigned today on charges the stabbed the cab driver early this morning at Shawmut Avenue and Lenox Street, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

The driver, 50, from Lynn, was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries following the 1:22 a.m. incident, Boston Police say.

Michael Shaw, 20, of South Boston, and Kareem Jemison, 37, will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court, the DA's office says. Police say officers quickly rounded up the pair:

In short time, officers located a black male who matched the description of one of the suspects. As officers got close to the suspect, the suspect stated, without being prompted, "I got nothing to do with that cab thing." Upon looking at the suspect's face and hands, officers observed smatterings of blood on both. When asked about the blood, the suspect stated that he had just had a fight with a white guy inside a cab. When asked if he was in possession of any weapons, the suspect stated that he was in possession of a knife. Officers located and seized the knife.
