Can't blame the Kells: Man stabbed in chest near busy Allston intersection

UPDATE, Saturday evening: Police say the man's condition has been upgraded to stable.

Boston Police report finding a 23-year-old man stabbed in the chest outside 160 Brighton Ave., near Harvard Avenue, around 2:20 a.m.

The man was taken to Beth Israel Hospital with a life-threatening injury, police say. Police say that when officers arrived, the first thing they noticed were bouncers at the Tavern in the Square (the former Kells) holding two guys. Then somebody told them they might want to take a look across the street - where they found the victim and his pals, who proved to be pretty useless, police say:

Officers attempted to speak with a group of witnesses who were with the victim, but were faced with a belligerent and disrespectful group.

The Herald reports they were also drunk.

No arrests have been made.
