Boston Police report they are looking for an armed robber who is grabbing cash out of cash registers at Dunkin' Donuts and Mcdonald's across Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan, most recently Wednesday night at the Mass. Ave. McDonald's.
Police say in all six cases under investigation, the common thread has been a black male in his 30s, about 5'8", with a Hispanic, Haitian or Jamaican accent who either orders something or hangs out in the lobby for awhile, then pulls out a gun and either demands cash or jumps over the counter and takes it. In addition to the Mass. Ave. robbery, police are looking at:
Dunkin' Donuts, 895 Morton St., 5/25, 9:05 p.m. "Ordered coffee and donut, then asked for another donut, Suspect displayed black handgun, demanded money, jumped over the counter took cash from 2 registers."
Dunkin' Donuts, 616 Mass. Ave., 5/24, 7:35 p.m. "Ordered coffee, sat and drank it, and ordered a second cup. Suspect displayed a black revolver and demanded cash. Clerk backed away, suspect jumped over the counter and took cash."
Dunkin' Donuts, 256 Boston St., 5/18, 10:48 p.m. "Asked for coffee, jumped over counter showed a black firearm and demanded money. Suspect took cash from the register and fled."
McDonald's, 605 Washington St., 5/13, 11 p.m. "Spoke Spanish and English, possible Puerto Rican accent. Suspect was hanging out front for a while went in to use the bathroom came out at closing, demanded money, showed a black revolver."
