Three women attacked on or near Phillips Street on Beacon Hill

Boston Police report one woman was raped and two others groped in attacks that may be by the same man.

In the first incident, around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday on Anderson Street, a woman was about to enter her home when a man came up to her from behind and groped her:

The victim yelled for help and the suspect fled on Anderson Street turning left on Phillips Street.

Around 11:30 p.m. yesterday, another woman was entering her building on Phillips Street when a man approached her from behind, knocked her to the ground and "sexually assaulted" her:

The victim reported the assault lasted seconds before the suspect fled on to Phillips Street.

The suspect is described as white, late 20s to early 30s, about 5'6" with a medium build and wavy or shaggy hair over his ears. He word a blue hoodie and dark pants.

Only about two minutes later, a woman walking on Garden Street near Phillips, another woman spotted that man and:

After passing him on the street the suspect approached her from behind. The victim turned and confronted the suspect who groped her and fled right on to Phillips Street.

Sounds a lot like the North End groper/assaulter, actually. :/

Just curious, why did you place "sexually assaulted" in quotes regarding the Phillips Street attack? I'm guessing because in the next sentence, you say the attack was very brief. But reading it in quotes in this instance seems to imply that you, as the author, doubt the validity of the victim's claim. I'm uncertain of why the duration of the attack should affect it's validity. Just thought you should be aware of this detail and how it can come off for readers. I do appreciate you reporting on this story, but please be mindful of how your own bias can edge in to a story about women being "sexually assaulted."

I put it that way because that was the exact phrase used by BPD in their statement, which made it sound like the first two women were grabbed or groped but that this other case was a more serious attack. I wasn't trying to impugn anything the victim or the police may have said.
