Guy shows up at hospital missing couple of fingers, claims muggers cut them off

UPDATE, 12/17/13: Per Boston's Finest, he had his finger and half another finger chopped off in a Hyde Park apartment used for cocaine distribution.

UPDATE: It was only one finger, but mystery still surrounds the whole case.

A man showed up at Faulkner Hospital tonight with two fingers cut off - and one still in his possession. But while he initially said he was jumped by muggers on South Street near Fallon Field in Roslindale and that they cut his fingers off to get his diamond ring, he changed his story and said he was de-fingered near the rotary that connects the Arborway with Morton Street in Forest Hills.

After an extensive search of the area between the rotary and Shattuck Hospital, police were unable to find either a finger or blood.
