Two men stabbed in South Boston, possibly in a knife fight with each other; third victim shows up an hour later

Two men wound up stabbed in South Boston around 9 p.m. One victim was found on Preble Street near Vinton, the other on Dorchester Street near Vinton. Both were taken to local hospitals with injuries not expected to kill them.

About an hour later, witnesses pointed police to a guy in a Patriots shirt, covered in blood, wandering around West Broadway. After a foot chase, police caught up with him and had an ambulance summoned to take him to another local hospital.

Hey Adam - Any more news on this?

I can't find this story anywhere on any blog (except yours, as usual), except seeing the transit police at the end of my street. Yes I live pretty much right here and I'd like to know what happened.

Is there anyway to tell what % of the crime committed in South Boston occurs within 1000' of the 3 public housing developments, aka the projects?

No one heard about this because South Boston is becoming a regular regarding stabbings, murders, muggings, robberies etc. With all the money developers have and are proposed to invest in this community you are not going to hear about any crimes unless you look it up. They are not going come out and tell you just how bad it has become in South Boston. You will only hear about something if it is so truly big enough that it cannot be ignored by the media. This is not the safe town it used to be but you will not hear that from any one from the BRA or City Hall. A community is only safe when the residents and merchants of that community stand up and work together to keep it that way. Sadly the old South Boston residents, families with children are mostly gone now. The only reason South Boston was safe to live in was because there were generations of residents living here that all knew each other well and looked out for one another. Like I said, they are mostly all gone now so South Boston has become just another big city with crime statistics that are growing daily. It's the people "in" the community that make a town safe, not the name of the town. South Boston has become over crowded with people, over building, too many vehicles, nail salons & bicycles. No one knows their neighbor and they don't make any effort to get to know them. Maybe we did this back in the day because everyone had children & that was one way to connect to other families. Families cannot afford to live here anymore. Has anyone noticed how on the holidays no one puts Christmas lights in their windows or on their property anymore? When I was a child growing up here, almost every window would be illuminated with some sort of Christmas decoration. It was beautiful to walk around & see them. Now around Christmas it is dark & dreary because the residents are mostly single or college kids that go home to their parents houses for the holidays. They could not be bothered putting up decorations. This is why we need to get much needed affordable housing for families with children so they can live in South Boston. I believe more families will make this a better and much safer community like it used to be. Amen

This is very true the reason southie isn't the safe town it use to be. Is all the development sticking their greedy hands in what was ounces a safe place aside from some fist fights. That's how we handled stuff . You have a problem knuckle up . Shake hands and its over. And of you were not from southie and wanted to fight one of us you had to fight a of us plain and Simple. Now we got yuppies standing by watching ppl get robbed or beat and do nothing about it. Pulling cell phones out to record it when if just one person stood and helped the victims could have been saved..... but yeah keep raising the prices on homes in southie and tear down churches for apartment complexes "condos" and crime is going to keep rising
