Man learns nobody likes a showoff, including State Police

A South End man who was showing off to friends by spinning his wheels and speeding through a red light in East Boston early Sunday found himself in a bit of trouble after a State Trooper who watched the whole thing stopped him for the traffic violation - and then found drugs and a loaded gun with an obliterated serial number - the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Hector Delvalle, 29, was arraigned today in East Boston District Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, receiving a firearm with a defaced serial number, possession of a Class E substance, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, the DA's office reports, adding he was also issued citations for failing to stop at a red light, failing to wear a seatbelt and possessing less than an ounce of marijuana. Judge Roberto Ronquillo, Jr., set bail at $7,500.

According to the DA's office, around 1 a.m., Delvalle was stopped at a red light on Bennington Street when his Accord:

Suddenly went into reverse, spinning its tires before passing the other stopped vehicles and making an illegal left turn through the red light onto Saratoga Street.

Unfortunately for Delvalle, a trooper - in a marked cruiser - was right there. The trooper pulled the car over at Saratoga and Boardman and when the trooper learned Delvalle's license had been suspended for failing to pay a ticket for not wearing a seat belt, ordered him out of the car, the DA's office says, adding Delvalle volunteered he had a small amount of pot in the car:

The trooper then inventoried the car prior to having it towed. In addition to a small quantity of marijuana where Delvalle said it would be, he recovered a black backpack in the car’s trunk. The backpack contained a hard, heavy object later found to be a Lorcin Model L380 .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun with the serial number obliterated, prosecutors said. The gun’s safety was in the off position, and there were three rounds in the magazine.

Also in the backpack were personal papers in Delvalle’s name, including a jury service letter and a prior motor vehicle citation. The trooper also recovered about 15 capsules believed to be prescription antibiotics for which Delvalle said he did not have a prescription.

Innocent, etc.

Ahhh makes sense now... a "South End man", as in Villa Victoria man.

It always amazes me when someone does something behaves like this when they are packing heat and holding drugs. It just proves how profoundly stupid they really are and that they deserve what they get.
