Police say Dorchester market doubled as a drug store

Boston Police charge the owner of the Dolly Market, 16 Dacia St., was selling heroin and cocaine, in addition to milk and soda.

Ramon Fermin, 60, of Mattapan was arrested on charges of trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Police say detectives had been watching the store for eight months and that when they raided it around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, found, 1.2 kilograms of a white substance believed to be cocaine, 290 grams of presumed heroin, 1.7 kg of brown and white powders of unknown provenance, 122 bottles of chemicals used to dilute drugs for retail sale, a 12-guage shotgun with an obliterated serial number and $11,200 in currency.

In addition to Fermin, police charged Carlos Pimentel, 37, of Dorchester with unlawful possession of ammunition and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
