Boston Police report a man who interceded in another man's attack on a woman near Haymarket around midnight got stabbed but still managed to grapple the attacker to the ground and hold him there until police arrived.

John Driscoll, 29, of Jamaica Plain, was arrested on charges of assault with intent to murder, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, for the incident at Blackstone and Hanover streets, police say.

According to police, Driscoll was in the process of assaulting a woman there when the other man interceded.

An altercation took place in which the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim was able to knock the knife away from the suspect and further detain him until officers arrived. The knife was later recovered in a nearby sewer.

Innocent, etc.

So why are they not reporting the man getting shot in face this morning? Must not want every shooting to get publicised this year since its been a rough start on Boston terms this year.
