Police: Man stomped into unconsciousness, robbed near Brigham Circle

Boston Police report arresting two of the four people they say punched and kicked a man to the ground on Tremont St. around 9:50 p.m. yesterday.

According to police, the victim was walking on Tremont when a woman, walking with three men, asked him for money.

When he refused, the suspect wearing the black and red coat yelled at him then punched the victim several times, knocking him to the ground. The other two males joined in the assault, punching and kicking him. The victim added that his wallet, cell phone, and money were missing.

Police say that when officers arrived, the man was lying on the sidewalk, unconscious, with obvious mouth and arm injuries. A witness told officers that after her male accomplices were done with their punching and kicking, the woman took a few whacks at the victim's head with an umbrella while screaming at him. She then left the now broken umbrella there as she and the other three men ran up the stairs near the Stop & Shop, police say.

Police say officers in search of the pack spotted two men running on Calumet Street, near Pequoit and Darling. Officers stopped and arrested them - and found the victim's wallet, phone and money under a car parked about 15 feet away.

Jonathan Robinson, 25, and Joshuwa Hall, 19, both of Roxbury, were charged with unarmed robbery, assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury and assault and batter with a dangerous weapon. Robinson was also charged with unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon - a knife police say was found on him during booking.

West Roxbury District Court Judge Ernest Sarason set bail at $1,000 for each and ordered them to stay away and have no contact with the victim, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office, which had sought bail of $10,000.

Innocent, etc.
