Woman sexually attacked, robbed in the Arboretum

UPDATE: Arrest made.

Boston Police report a woman was attacked at knifepoint around 11 a.m. yesterday somewhere in the Arnold Arboretum.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early twenties, 5’4” to 5’6” in height. He is further described as having a thin build, wearing a black do-rag, white t-shirt, dark colored jeans with grey. The suspect was riding a black bicycle.

Police did not specify where the attack took place in the Arboretum, which straddles the Jamaica Plain/Roslindale line. Police have stepped up patrols in the Arboretum, and there was a lot of police activity today in the area between the state lab and the Forest Hills entrance.

The attack happened about two weeks after two women were knocked to the ground and robbed just outside the Arboretum near the Forest Hills T stop; however, police made two arrests in that case.

Wasn't there a robbery with a similar suspect a couple weeks ago?

Yes, at the entrance near the T stop, but police arrested two people for that.

Given the suspect's low height and weight, and use of bicycle, he sounds more like a minor.

I'm in the Arboretum twice a day, so it would be helpful if the police specified where this happened. I know that doesn't mean it can't happen anywhere or that it would happen twice in the same place, but still--it's pretty brazen considering that the Arboretum employees are out and about all day.

I did see animal control in there at about 9:00 a.m. Wednesday and a policeman on a bike another morning at about 10 a.m.
