Fight in Andrew Square ends with three stabbed

Couple of dudes with knives got all Jim Croce on each other in Andrew Square around 9 p.m. yesterday and tried to slice each other up - with one of them stabbing a woman for good measure - the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Orrett Daley, 31, of South Boston, was ordered held in lieu of $200,000 bail at his arraignment today in South Boston District Court on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed assault with intent to murder, the DA's office says, adding he went after not only Steven Sudler, 37, of Dorchester, but the woman as well.

Sudler was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; his bail was set at $1,000, the DA's office reports.

The two men and the woman are all expected to survive.

The Globe has more on the battle between people who were apparently complete strangers that allegedly began when one uttered a homophobic slur.

Innocent, etc.

Southie not what people think

By on

I agree, the projects are still there meaning the crime will never just disappear. People need to realize that Southie will never just miraculously become a nice neighborhood....at least in the near future.

The projects are clustered

By on

The projects are clustered around Andrew and, compared to the S. End, the rest of South Boston is pretty much project free. The big difference is, there are so many white people in the Southie projects, and there's no entitlement like white entitlement.

White people

You obviously live no where near nor do you know anything about Southie projects. White residents are the minority in the housing projects. There are more Black, Hispanic and Asians than whites. Get your facts straight before posting stupid statements.

Southie is about 3 sq miles, with 3 project developments. "There are so many white people in the Southie projects" how many white people? More than there are black people, Hispanics or Asian? What does this have to do with white people? Troll...

I may have to agree

with the SBADL that this is the dumbest comment ever. Its not 1975 Heather. Those developments are minority majority and have been for 20 years.
