Dot. Ave. convenience-store owner robbed, shot

UPDATE: Suspect arrested.

The owner of the D & D convenience store, 1002 Dorchester Ave., was robbed and then shot around 7:30 p.m.

Police are looking for a black man, about 6'1" and slim, wearing a black mask, an orange-brimmed hat, a blue hoodie, a black and white bubble vest and blue jeans. They are looking for a yellow, 2010 Camry, 394 SA2, registered out of Brockton, in connection with the attack.

A State Police helicopter joined the search. Maureen McQuillen reports:

Copter tight circles with spotlight in/around JFK T and several blocks.

This is the second shooting on Dorchester Avenue today.

Wonder if they're related.

Ugh. These reports are too close to home. Thanks for reporting Adam - I often find these shootings are only reported here and not on any of the other news outlets. A shooting is important news no matter what neighborhood it occurs in.

I doubt they were related. The shootings were at opposite ends of Dot Ave.

Not good news. The gun violence is too frequent. Very unnerving.

Wish that a helicopter could be brought out more often to search for violent suspects.
