Person shot in Lower Mills

Around 5 p.m. in front of the library and the CVS on Dorchester Avenue at Richmond Street. The victim's injuries were serious enough to have the homicide unit called in.

Lauren Dezenski at the Dorchester Reporter reports the victim was shot in the head. She adds voting continues at the library - but voters are being directed to an alley entrance behind Ester.

The victim's injuries were serious enough to have the homicide unit called in.

Is that a roundabout way of saying he is dead?

They're proactive with the homicide unit. Although homicide detectives are obviously always called in when the victim is dead, they're also called in when somebody's injuries are so bad they might die, just in case.

that if said person does die and it becomes a homicide, its important to tag and bag all evidence immediately.

According to
Lauren Dezenski ‏@LaurenDezenski Boston, MA

Shooting at Dot Ave & Richmond St. appears to be gang-related. Victim w/ gun shot wound to the head in serious condition, per BPD.

The Gang problem/Gun Violence troubles me so much!

These bastards are urban terrorists. This is the first shooting that I can think of in DLM. Nice job scum. You are not going to destroy this neighborhood. May the Boston Police and Suffolk County DA's office be swift and generous in the dispensation of justice.

I AGREE THE BPD NEEDS TO GET AN ARMY TOGETHER AND GET THESE MAGGOTS OFF THE STREET AND STOP PLAYING TIDDLIE WINKS WITH THESE PUNKS. GET OUT OF THE DAM CARS GET SOME BALLS AND STOP JUST COLLECTING A CHECK.

Police, Detectives, and Gang Units have to have probable cause, witnesses to shootings, etc. In order to get these thugs off the streets.

BPD has to find the stash houses- Informants, Surveillance, get search warrants, etc.

Defense lawyers make good $$ defending gang members.
All they need is money for a lawyer.

That's why a lot of us in bullet ridden, gang-run neighborhoods are a low turnout. Word to the media

That neighborhood is neither bullet ridden, nor gang-run.

That is a lame excuse for not voting because you can always do absentee ballot and / or demand police presence at the polls. Also lower mills area is generally not know as a violent neighborhood. If you dont vote you are eliminating your voice from the conversation. Look how close the governors race was!

I wish there was a way to stop these illegally purchased guns from getting to our state in the first place!

If we could stop the supply from the Iron Pipeline

THE IRON PIPE LINE...GUNS COME FROM SOUTH to NORTH!

Some people may be tired of the posts I submit, but it is important. Illegally obtained weapons are too easy to get in Massachusetts.
If the "same ole same ole" does not change, crime will run rampant.
We need to be heard if we are fed up.

Afraid
To walk the streets?

Let your kids out to play?

Don't sit or sleep near windows?

Sad that people fear the stray bullets!

My daughter goes to school right across the street. They're will lots of kids inside for after school activites...what a coward! Parents use that parking lot for picking kids. Thankfully no one else was injured.
