Police: Roxbury woman wakes up to find intruder in her bedroom

Boston Police report that shortly before 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, a woman in an apartment at Ziegler and Dearborn streets was awoken by a noise in her apartment:

After being awoken by the noise, she observed an unknown male suspect enter her bedroom. The victim says, after a brief struggle, the suspect fled the area in an unknown direction. The victim was unable to give a description of the suspect due to the lighting conditions.

This is pretty much my worst nightmare (and why I am so glad I don't live alone anymore).

I know what you mean. When I lived alone, I refused to install my AC in the summer because I realized that when it was on in the bedroom, the world could have dropped away outside and I would never have known what happened.

In what might be considered a paranoid move, I also hung jingle bells on the doorknobs to my front and back door to alert me if anyone tried to get in at night (I'm a light sleeper.)
