Student stabbed at the O'Bryant School

Around 2:10 p.m. as students were being dismissed. Not considered life threatening.

Suspect: Black male, 5'8" or 5'9" wearing all black, including a fitted black cap. May have run towards the Dudley T stop.

BPS provided a transcript of the robocall that went out to parents:

Hello, this is a call from Nicole Gittens, Headmaster of the O’Bryant. Unfortunately today there was an incident outside our school at dismissal that involved a knife. One of our students was injured. He did the right thing and came back inside the school and we called Boston EMS. I am happy to say that his injuries are not life threatening and that he will be all right. Boston Police, Boston School Police and Boston EMS responded quickly when this incident occurred. We will have extra security here tomorrow and in the days ahead. Clearly, any conflict is unacceptable and ensuring student safety is the most important thing we do. I know this is difficult news and that your thoughts are with the student who was hurt. He will be all right and we will be working very closely with law enforcement moving forward to ensure safety at all times, both inside and outside of school. Thank you.

I'm sure glad it wasn't a cop shooting a kid in Missouri and only the stabbing of a kid at a Boston Public School or is just everyone commenting in invisible e-ink?

I'm glad the person is ok, but I would love the minister from the JP Baptist Church who is "monitoring" the situation in Ferguson and letting us know about it on the half hour on GBH fly back and "monitor" things closer to his flock.

Were the victim or the culprit members of First Baptist in JP? Because there are plenty of other churches closer to the O'Bryant.

I really just do not understand this comment.

We should hold high schoolers to the same standards as police officers and grand juries. It's just Logic.

My thoughts and prayers to the victim.
Maybe I missed this story with the mainstream media. There seems to be little to no mention of this stabbing. As always Universal Hub seems to have it's finger on the pulse of Boston. What if this happened at another exam school? Media galore!

But honesty compels me to admit the Globe also had a story. Granted, buried way down in the Metro section, but still.
