Man shot in Mattapan

Stanley Staco reports a man was shot around 8:30 p.m. at Gladeside Avenue and Linvale Terrace - and that he walked a couple blocks to Mamelon Circle, where police found him.

I know someone who used to
I know someone who used to live on Marmelon Circle. It's actually a very quiet block. That whole area is very residential and until now has been immune to the violence in the rest of the area. Upsetting.
Gladeside has history of violence, murders
Very residential, but not at all immune to violence. Not by a long shot.
There have been some pretty serious shootings in and around that neighborhood, including a murder on Gladeside earlier this year.
Tia Francis was murdered on Gladeside in an ambush in 2007.
Mariotis Harris, 17, from nearby Lorna Road was found dead in the woods - known as the Gladeside Urban Wild— in 2007.
Obviously, there may be no connection b/e any of these killings. But something is not right on that street.
