East Boston teen charged as gun-toting drug dealer

Boston Police report arresting a 15-year-old Friday evening after they say officers watched him in two alleged drug transactions on Lamson Street, Jeffries Point.

Police say the teen, too young to have his name released, was charged with distribution of heroin, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm. One of the men he allegedly sold heroin to, Daniel Frometa, 29, of Winthrop, was charged with possession of heroin.

Police say they had to move in to arrest the teen before they could grab the second man because the kid "made gestures consistent with those of a person who may be armed" and officers wanted to prevent gunfire.

Police say officers had been patrolling the area due to numerous resident complaints about drug dealing and an earlier call for gunfire at 152 Sumner St.
