Woman robbed at knifepoint outside Green Street T station

Around 10:30 p.m. The robber put a knife to her back as she was on her phone, took the phone and fled. He's described as Hispanic, about 5'6" and 170 lbs with a chinstrap beard. He wore a black and yellow Bruins winter cap with a pom-pom on top, a white track suit and sneakers with pink laces. He may have fled on an inbound Orange Line train.

He should be arrested just for wearing white before Easter.

1. Wear a white tracksuit.
2. Cultivate distinctive facial hair
3. Leave scene of mugging and enter train station full of cameras.
4. Oh, and don't forget fancy shoelaces.

Hope they catch this idiot sooner rather than later.

Police say the woman came right to the E-13 station two blocks away to report the robbery. Cops also confirm the mugger was caught on video at the station. Here's our report at Jamaica Plain News.

In Heaven I am sure I could exit the Divine T stop utterly oblivious to my environment. There will be no mugging in Heaven (sex maybe - ask Emmanuel Swedenborg). But I'm pretty sure that in Heaven - and only Heaven - anywhere I stand will be utterly safe.

But the sweet Earth is not Heaven. The Green Street T stop, or any other T stop, is not a zone where muggers are somehow repelled.

So when exiting a T stop, especially late at night, keep the cell phone in the pocket until arriving home. Then make that telephonic booty call and have a good night.

In the late-70s/80s, they were slamming old ladies to the sidewalk and stealing their handbags. I'd call this progress by the less fortunate among us.
