Two shootings in Dorchester.

One critical.

Outrage?

Nonexistent.

The fact that on a Sunday evening nobody has commented on Universal Hub about it?

As the kids would say: Weaksauce.

What time can I pencil you in for the peace walk next weekend?

Ha! If Brookline had one night of this, you wouldn't hear the end of it.

Let's see what makes the morning news, and if the community response will be commensurate.

I'm guessing the locals will dismiss it as just another hot spring/summer night.

How do you know how "the community" will react?

And is your "here" anywhere near the location of the shooting? Boston's a big town, after all.

You didn't have to announce it. Your lack of punctuation gave it away.

If outrage is what you're looking for then I'm sure if you visited the family of the person shot you'd be able to find it. Just because the whole neighborhood isn't up in arms about one of the many shootings that happens in Dorchester every year doesn't mean there aren't efforts being made to stop the violence. The news hardly ever picks up shootings like this unless they are either homicides, or in more well-known areas of the city. It's hard to spread awareness and support for ending this type of behavior if it isn't even getting a mention from local media. If that comment was a jab at the Black Lives Matter movement then it was a very weak one. Residents of a bad neighborhood generally have little control over the gangs and drugs that flood the area, but when something like police brutality is occuring, they actually do have a say seeing as how police officers are supposed to be protecting the people they serve under law. It doesn't take a Dorchester resident to figure this out either, I live in the burbs and can still understand the effects of drugs and poverty on urban areas, and I have many friends from Dorchester that feel the same way. There's plenty of outrage out there, but just because you don't take the time to see or hear it doesn't mean it isn't there.

I had been talking with a realtor about a property nearby this shooting. They stated that the property was about to come under agreement. I'm curious if the buyer may have second thoughts.
