Two arrested for string of armed robberies from Mattapan to Brookline

Boston and Brookline Police report arresting a couple of guys they say robbed at least 11 stores in August and September, most recently a market across from the Brookline Village T stop Thursday evening - one night after they knocked over the Rosedale Market at 547 Washington St. in Codman Square.

The two, who sometimes showed up together and sometimes worked individually, robbed convenience stores, fast-food restaurants and gas stations in Mattapan, Dorchester, the South End and Brookline, starting in late August.

In addition to cash, the two liked to steal cigarettes.

Gerald Sibley, 34, was charged with armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. Marion Griffin, 44, was charged with armed robbery.
