Is anyone else concerned &/or going to mention the uptick in shootings/homicides in the last week? Not sure what is going on but it doesn't seem good.

as of the 2nd week of December, roughly 2 weeks from the end of 2015. This is a low murder rate for a large city. There are many other similar sized large cities that have had far more murders, many between 100-200 during the same time frame. You want to experience really bad urban violence, go to Baltimore, St. Louis, Detroit, Atlanta, etc.

Same to a degree goes for shootings. There are definitely a lot more shootings vs murders, but Boston has less than many other similar sized large cities.

Alarmingly, most of these murders/shootings/stabbings are in a small area of about 4 sq. miles. and not all of them appear on this website.

Shootings are bad whether its 1 or 100. And experiencing death in a community can weigh heavy on the hearts of the survivors. These individuals who have been murdered in the last few weeks are not just numbers on a board. They are people who had lives, families, ups, downs, short comings, hopes, dreams, aspirations, promises to fulfill, and their lives were cut short. I feel that when we compare we desensitize the situation at hand. If we can cut down the crime rate in most major cities then that's a plus but what about the mother who has to bury her son? It's just sad.

To stop selling guns to those on the no-fly list. This can't keep happening.
