DA: Men arrested over weekend on gun charges beat another man in court lockup this morning

Two men arrested on gun charges after gang-unit officers stopped the cab they were in were re-arrested while awaiting arraignment this morning after they beat another man in the lockup at Dorchester Municipal Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

The alleged beatdown means Dijoun Beasley, 19, and Tyshawn Cummings, 20, both of Dorchester, probably won't be arraigned on the gun charges today because they had to be taken back to District C-11 for booking and processing on the new assault and battery charge, the DA's office says.

Cummings won acquittal in October at his trial on charges he and a pal shot a man in 2013. The other guy pleaded guilty to the charges and is now serving five years in state prison, the DA's office reports.

Innocent, etc.

Two less dangers off the street. These shootings need to stop. Coward acts of violence.

Should have already been in jail on their prior gun charges. Hopefully this will keep them off the street for a while, but I have a feeling their names will show up again on UHub.

Sure, laugh all you want, but these guys are supposed to have been arraigned on weapons charges today. Do you see them being arraigned on weapons charges? Looks like they found a way to beat the system: if you get arrested every morning before court, you can never be formally charged!
