A metal detector might have come in handy at a Dorchester get-together

Boston Police report a get-together of five teens Friday night ended with both a gun and a knife being drawn.

Police say three young women were staying over with two of their friends at 8 Theodore St. when an argument broke out around 8 p.m.

During the argument, one of the friends, a 17-year-old female from Dorchester, pulled out a silver firearm, pointed it at the three females, and stated, “I have a gun. I can kill you.”

One of the three then pulled out her own knife and threatened to return the favor, police say.

Somebody dialed 911 and before you knew it, police were on scene:

Inside the apartment, the officers located the 17-year-old female who allegedly showed the firearm, then conducted a sweep of the common areas of the residence for the second suspect and the firearm. Officers located the second suspect, a 16-year-old female from Dorchester, in the hallway. A pat frisk of the 16-year-old and her purse revealed a loaded silver .22 caliber Harrington & Richardson Model 930 revolver inside the purse.

The two teens were both arrested and charged as delinquent on account of being in possession of an unlicensed gun and ammunition.

Erukinia Philogene, of Mattapan, at 19 old enough to have her name put in public police reports, was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon (a knife), police say.

Innocent, etc.

man lets use a bunch of stereotypes and cliches hahahaah dude these are so funny do you have anymore, im dyin over here!

edit: not only will i like your post once, i'll like it twice!!

edit2: it occurs to me you have to have some serious ovaries to pull a knife on somebody that just pulled a gun on you, dang

am i reading it correctly that the person that responded to a gun being pulled on them got charged with assault for pulling a knife? seems odd to be charged with assault for bringing a knife to a gun fight

I'm pretty curious about why the 19 was charged with assault. If someone pulls a gun on you, you can't defend yourself? Maybe the official account is missing something, but the way that it's written makes it seem like they just charged her because she was the only one whose name they could get into the newspaper.

On a different note, let this be a lesson to young people never to let your petty, humiliating teenage fights escalate to the point that you end up in the paper. It's embarrassing just to read this story.

are known worldwide for their sophistication, and as such i am very surprised by the lack of decorum.

if these people were presidents, vice presidents, secretaries of treasury, fathers of the coast guard, signers of the declaration of independence, commodores of the US navy (2x), senator, governor, president of a republic (of texas), we'd call it a duel, and you'd never have brought up a lack of sophistication.

but obviously only the unsophisticated would ever resort to violence to solve a conflict right, theres never emotion, or context involved.

an armed society is a polite society, right?

But is it a good guy with a knife versus a bad guy with a gun? Or a good guy with a gun, a bad guy with a knife, and a bystander with a slingshot?
