I used to live right at Adams and Ashmont and never felt comfortable with my girlfriend taking the train and walking there. Out of every time she's been harassed on or near the MBTA, they were all on that branch of the red line headed to or at Ashmont. It's a pretty nice neighborhood, but the major transit hub draws in some weirdos.

Side note: what's up with BPD's safety tips? Use your keys in your hand as a weapon? That's a great way to injure yourself. How about OC spray which is now available to 18+ non-prohibited persons. What about promoting their free RAD self-defense classes?

Recommends against sprays as they can be used against you. I can't remember their stance on keys between the fingers, though.
