And the Transit Police. I'm sure the courts don't take fare evasion or assaulting cops or drivers serious.

I'm sure the courts don't take fare evasion or assaulting cops or drivers serious.

They don't take drunk driving or child abuse seriously either.

not only for refusing to pay the fare, but for spitting at the bus driver, to boot. What are things coming to these days that people have so much gall that they spit on or even assault the bus driver for a simple thing as asking them to pay the fare?

There are signs on MBTA buses and trains, too, I think, that say "DO NOT TOUCH THE DRIVER."

GREAT JOB MBTA OFFICER, in arresting "spitter", look most of us would be ready to fight someone if they spit on us, however a defensive-less bus driver , don't expect it and they can't leave the bus because the safety of the passengers. We are taught early on in life not to spit and there is a reason for that. About the fare-evasion it's a serious crime treated as so. As we can see you never know who you might apprehend, the person might be a murder, people don't run for nothing.

I hope the "spitter" is charge with felonious assault..

It goes both ways, some bus drivers are kind and some bus drivers drive like assholes .Bus drivers also cheat by skipping bus stops if they see customers heading back in their direction towards Forest Hills from the Backbay area. They will shake there head no and keep going.
