This is ironic. I live about 3 blocks away and last night I was walking my dog at almost exactly the same time thinking, "wow, things are finally getting better around here. Hasn't been any violent crime in a while". What are the odds.

It's funny how the only crime that happens in Southie happens in the projects. Unfortunately, there are three separate housing projects and they're all HUGE. Maybe we should use the city budget to BUILD A WALL around them, isolating them from the rest of Southie.

How you only see what you want to see. Take a look at this map and tell me that all the crime in South Boston only happens in the projects (note: yes, there are a couple of markers outside Southie; they're for reports that involved both South Boston and another neighborhood).

How it does - big cluster of shootings, stabbings and drugs around Old Colony, and a few random fights and robberies (i.e. normal everyday city crime) elsewhere.

How when somebody says all crime, without any modifiers attached, happens only in three specific locations and it's pointed out that's just wrong, the factually challenged jumps in.

He was referring to the three family housing developments (Old Harbor, Old Colony, & D St). That map includes elderly public housing.

A slight correction on your crime map. There is a crime that happened at 738 East Broadway, cited below, but your map shows it at 838 E. Broadway. I live very near 838 and had no recollection of the incident so checked out your article.

And Dorchester is going to pay for it.

On this site seems to turn into an argument. It's amazing how sensitive Bostonian's are when it comes to Southie.
