Person shot in Mattapan; three arrested

A person was shot around 3:32 a.m. today at 156 Standard St., Boston Police report.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, police say.

Not long after the shooting, SWAT officers spotted the blue BMW X5 SUV that had been reported fleeing from the scene at Blue Hill Avenue and Columbia Road.

Officers surrounded the car and ordered its three occupants out: The 17-year-old driver, not named because of his age, Jaury Pimentel, 18, of Rxobury and Kevin Mejia, 19, of Dorchester. Officers recovered a .357 Magnum revolver, which police say was just lying on the floor of the car.

The firearm contained no bullets, however, officers later recovered six spent shell casings from the juvenile suspect which he had attempted to discard. Officers also learned that he did not possess a valid driver’s license.

The teen driver was charged with being delinquent for assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, and driving without a license. The two older suspects were charged with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling

Isn't there a page on the city website listing the number of homicides and non-fatal shootings for the year? Are we up over this time last year?

Where does it say the car cost him $60k? You've heard of used cars, right?

FWIW I could not even afford a $5000 car when I was 17, let alone something 5 figures.

Picked up with a stolen credit card.

A 17 year old can't rent a car and the report said no driver's license. I bet it was stolen or loaned from another shady character.

Unless you mug the owner and walk around clicking their fob. This means that the investigation too narrow to be helpful for a hit. If you rent a car with false I'd and let someone else drive then you slow the police down even if you show a plate. Talk a kiddo into doing by lying about whether they will be treated as an adult and you might never get caught.
