Heard something, two loud pops. I wasn't sure what it was, thought it might have been an ac unit. Now there's 2 SUVs and a paddy wagon parked outside.

Can you imagine the outrage at this site if a slur like that was directed at blacks, lesbians, illegals, jews?

I ask because while B3 made the initial response to the shooting (E13 in JP being busy with that Heath Street shooting), E13 assumed control of the investigation, which they wouldn't have done close to Melnea Cass.

Just a wild guess, but there has to be come connection between this and the girl shot on Heath Street just minutes before this. The Herald article says "Minutes later, McNulty said a 24-year-old man told police he was hit by gunfire while walking into a building on Bragdon Street in Roxbury."
Kind of suspicious using the phrase "told police" rather than a confirmation that the shooting actually happened on Bragdon Street.
There are shot spotter listening devices all over this area. At that time of night it is a 2-3 minute drive between Heath and Bragdon or a 10 minute walk. I would be willing to bet good money he was involved in the shooting on Heath street, and that the Police know from shot spotter there was no shooting on or near Bragdon.
