Guy charged with shooting a man who refused to hand over his cash in Dorchester robbery attempt

Boston Police report arresting Devin Boone, 32, of Dorchester, on charges he shot a man who refused to hand over his money during a robbery on Evans Street in May.

According to police, Boone went up to the man outside 50 Evans St. around 10:05 p.m. on May 26 and demanded money:

When the victim refused, he stated that the suspect shot him and fled the area at which time the victim was able to make his way to Stanton Street for assistance. The victim was taken to a local hospital and survived his injuries.

BPD detectives, Brockton Police and US Marshals arrested Boone this morning on Court Street in Brockton on charges of assault and battery by means of a dangerous robbery, attempted armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, police say.
