Woman shot in Mattapan street robbery

A woman was shot in the side and stomach shortly before midnight at Blue Hill Avenue and Almont Street. The same two suspects may have also robbed somebody at gunpoint on Woolson Street near Norfolk Street.

Boston Police report the arrest of 21-year-old Wilkenson Charles, 21, of Hyde Park, and Phillipe Walnes, 30, of Malden. Police say Charles was taken into custody without problems in Mattapan Square, but that Walnes ran and kicked in officer in a failed escape attempt.
