UPDATE: Ordered held on $200,000 bail at arraignment for the two Mattapan cases; to be arraigned tomorrow for the Brighton incident, per Suffolk County DA's office.
Boston Police report a man arrested yesterday for a Jan. 10 holdup at a market on North Beacon Street in Brighton now also faces charges for five similar armed robberies in Mattapan Square and Brighton this month.
Police say Huggins held up the Cricket Wireless and Papa John's, both in the same block on River Street in Mattapan Square within minutes of each other. Records show two robberies and an assault and battery around 2:10 p.m. there on Saturday.
Police say that when officers arrived at his Mattapan home yesterday, Huggins at first tried to hide in a closet, then tried and failed to fight his way out of arrest. Officers also recovered a loaded 9mm Ruger pistol, police say.
