Allston man charged with knife display on trolley

A man who allegedly pulled out a knife on B trolley in Allston tonight was arrested after passengers fled at BU Central, the MBTA reports.

Ronald McNally, Jr., 53, was arrested by BU Police around 6:45 p.m. after he also got off the train and witnesses IDed him, the T says. There was no fight or injuries aboard the trolley, the T says.

Innocent, etc.

Nice job by the BU Police. They do an excellent job of keeping the Green Line Safe

I'm asking because I don't know. Are BU Police allowed to make arrests ON the Green Line? Seems the that would be the turf of the Transit Police.

BU PD is actually considered a legit (but privately-funded) extention of BPD because of the huge swath of land they cover. They are the police department for their stretch of Boston-Allston, and have full police powers in their jurisdiction (they still coordinate with BPD like any other department would). They are also a bunch of solid good guys, based on my experience as an alum--and you do not fuck with them. ; )

Transit police (as well as Brookline Police) were on the scene as well.

Good! I'm glad the guy who pulled a knife on the MBTA Green Line did get arrested. It serves the guy right! Let's hope he's put away for awhile so he can't do that again.
