Jamaica Plain? Roxbury? Ya can't win for losing.

I was going to post, tongue-in-cheek, "Which side of the street is that?"

West side? Must be Jamaica Plain. East side? Maybe we call that Roxbury. Then I looked at the tweet itself, which locates the crime in JP, and threw up my hands.

Ya really can't win for losing in this parochial game.

For a different shade of boosterism, read about The Midnight Ride of William Dawes at Jonas Prang.

What difference does it make?

Whether it's in JP or Roxbury, that area of the city ain't so grand.

I went with the Zip code this time

I know, I know ...

Jamaica Plain. The square is

Jamaica Plain. The square is the old border line - anything south of Columbus ave is JP.

Now the Egleston branch library currently being listed as a JP library is definitely in Roxbury, so go figure.

I'd just call it Egleston Square

and leave it at that.

A rose by any other name -

is still a rose. I'm with you, Ron. It's all Egleston Square. A neighborhood all to its own. (Rosy or not.)
