Police: Gunmen shoot two in two-hour robbery spree across city; one then falls asleep until officers awaken him

Boston Police report arresting two men on charges they drove around the city robbing and shooting people early this morning. Police found victims in Dorchester, the Fenway, Hyde Park and Roslindale before, they say, they found the suspects in Roxbury - one asleep in their car.

Carlos Rivera, 24, and Eric Cruz, 23, were both charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, five counts of armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm on a public way.

Police say their morning started around 6 a.m. at 94 Howard Ave., Dorchester, where they robbed a man and shot him several times. He was taken to Boston Medical Center and is expected to survive.

Less than a half hour later, police responded to Jersey and Queensberry streets in the Fenway, where a man reported he was walking to work when:

[T]he suspect approached him from behind, showed a firearm and stated, "Give me everything." After being robbed, the victim states that he observed the suspect enter a blue or green station wagon that fled the area.

Around 7:15 a., a woman flagged down police on Hyde Park Avenue and reported she'd just been robbed outside 11 Collins St., by a man who showed a gun and demanded money before jumping into a green vehicle - the license plate for which she reported to police.

The two allegedly hightailed it to Dorchester, where, around 7:35 a.m., police found yet another victim - a man shot outside 47 Sydney St. He was taken to Boston Medical Center and is expected to survive.

At 7:54 a.m., police report, officers responded to Regent and Herman streets in Roxbury, where yet another woman had just been robbed at gunpoint, by a Hispanic guy who jumped into a green vehicle.

Police say that around 10:15 a.m., officers found a green vehicle matching victims' descriptions outside 242 Warren St. in Roxbury:

The officers set up a perimeter and initiated surveillance of the car. Officers noticed one of the suspects appeared to be sleeping in the front passenger seat. Minutes later, the driver returned and officers promptly moved in apprehending both suspects. Officers recovered a firearm during a search of one of the suspects.

Innocent, etc.

needs to be said, when they do right.

Now let's hope the court sets an appropriate bail. As in good luck finding the money.
