Stabbing in the heart of Copley Square

Boston Police tweet somebody was stabbed at Boylston and Dartmouth, on the park side. EMTs are on scene.

Public Safety around Copley Sq &
in and around the BPL has deteriorated significantly. The BPD are able to get things under control when prodded. However, the management of the BPL is clueless as to how the growing numbers of frightening people using & abusing their computers roaming around the bldg are infringing on the rights of others who are there to look for jobs, study and work. What a shame to see the BPL in the hands of this current band of ineffective people.
Therein lies the rub
"frightening people" have the right to use the library too, and that includes using computers (but not abusing them, or other people of course). How do you know they're not also looking for jobs while at the library? Maybe they look 'frightening' because they're homeless.
If they mind their own business, they have the right to be there just as you do.
I'm aware of people committing specific crimes at libraries, such as indecent exposure, stalking, preying on minors, etc. If that's what you're referring to then yeah, haul them away and lock them up.
But someone who just is 'frightening' and roams around the building...not so much.
Lighting isn't really the
Lighting isn't really the best in that exact location (park side of Boylston & Dartmouth) in Copley Square. It's eerily dark and underlit. The crazies tend to hang out there too. I always try to avoid walking on that side at night. I'll either cross to Huntington in front of the BPL or walk down Boylston on the CVS-side.

The false security of
The false security of lighting ends up inevitably attracting people to that lit area, which in turn lessens the chance of crime. Not many sane criminals would try to commit a crime in front of people. The CVS side of Boylston is trafficked more by far.
